Remember to play with different heights in your display. However, a flat table and jars without lids and big openings may be best suited for parties with lots of small children for safety purposes.

Rent the right size jars for the amount of candy you plan to display.

Pick candy that matches your party colors, but don’t sacrifice your favorite sweets just because they don’t fit into the scheme. Not only should the table look great, you should be able to enjoy it too!

Scoops & tongs, which accompany every jar you rent from us, make it easy to retrieve the candy from the jars and keep your sweets germ-free. Rule of thumb: If the candy is wrapped, then no scoop needed. Anything you DO NOT want hands or fingers to touch, use a scoop or tongs.
Don’t forget to buy candy treat bags & ties from your local craft store.

Add a matching tablecloth to your table for another great use of color. Wrinkle-free is the way to go when you’re aiming for hassle-free. You can buy fabric and make it yourself or rent a table cloth from your local party store.

Tips and Budget Tricks
To stretch your dollar a bit use a few fillers here and there mixed in with your candy. A fun option would be clear canisters/bowls/jars with a coordinating colored fruit. And it doesn’t necessarily have to be the same color. If your candy buffet is yellow and white, you can choose limes to accent and help fill out your table. You can also mix in dessert items like brownies, cookies, marshmallows or mini donuts. Use things like candles, small flower arrangements, paper lanterns, etc. to fill up some space. You can also use fillers in the actual containers such as gumballs, rock candy, rice, jellybeans, coffee beans, marbles, ornaments and sugar. If you are on a budget candy can get expensive consider having a dessert buffet or a cookie buffet. Something a little different but still a crowd pleaser.

Keep the Season in mind. Prevent a melted candy disaster if you’re having an outdoor party in July and you’ve got 25 lbs of chocolate in your candy buffet. That goes for yogurt covered items as well – and any item that can potentially melt in the heat. Make sure to choose your candy wisely depending upon the environment and the season.
Double Duty to the rescue! Instead of a stand-alone candy buffet all by its lonesome… have a few containers on guest tables as centerpieces! You can save a ridiculous amount of money on flowers by forgoing that tradition and using the candy displays instead.

Before you start cruising for candy, let’s take a look at what you will need for this sweetly fabulous party idea.

Containers - You might opt for clear for the majority of jars so that you can get the full affect of the candy display.
Candy (Of course!) – You can get as many different kinds as you want, or stick to just a couple. But the more you have of different varieties, the more of a visual impact it will have.
Candy Scoops – Traditional silver scoops will do, or you can get creative with your scooper options.
Candy bags – From clear cellophane bags to Chinese food take-out boxes, your options are creatively endless.
Embellishments – If you choose. From ribbons to labels to hand-made tags - another candy buffet element where options are endless! Don't forget the glue gun to attach your ribbons and labels. A little glue goes a long way.
Linens - Tablecloth or runners placed underneath your display that compliment your color choices and will tie your whole look together and complete the "wow" factor.
Boxes - Candy Jars on top of different size boxes under tablecloths or table runners can create an interesting sometimes dramatic viewing effect.
Extra table props - Pictures frames with notes such as (Love is sweet so take a Treat) or backdrops, small vintage suit cases, flowers, wooden lettering like the word Sweet or Candy. Having a Paris theme party add an Eiffel Tower, Super hero party add toy figurines. Get creative!
